My F1 LED light was burnt out, as I believe is quite common. I took the dash pod off, and sent the LED to Ricambi. Great service. Had it back in a few days. I re-installed the F1 LED and then reinstalled the instrument pod. The issue I have is that the instrument pod now appears slightly raised above the dash, as is shown in the attached photos. The top of the pod has an “L” shaped bracket that fits into a corresponding bracket on the dash. Those are both in place and mated together, yet the top underside of the instrument pod is still showing. Any ideas? I feel like an idiot for posting this, but it is driving me crazy.

Did you get the pod hooked fully over the bar in the dash?

Mine does this too, and I'm pretty sure there's no adjustment. Are you
sure it wasn't always like that? Mine has been for 9 years, since I got the car.
Would love a fix. I thought about filling it with a thin piece of wood wrapped in
matching leather but that seemed a bit crappy.

On my third 355, I've got a similar gap. I adjusted the hook bracket a little and it helped but the main issue is the pod fiberglass has a bow in it. It's pretty common that these do not fit super tight.

Has the leather shrunk and pulled up off the pod? The reason is because I can see staples on the bottom, and you shouldn't be able to see those. They should be tucked up underneath.

Yes it looks shrunken, but he didn't get the pod fully seated either

The staples are in that area as the pod has a metal plate near that area too.

Not a great pic but here is mine I mentioned.

Thanks for the responses. I fiddled with it a little more, but really no big improvement. I guess it is comforting to know this is apparently a known 355 issue. I did not look closely at the dash when I removed the instrument pod, so it may very well have been this way before it removed the pod to replace the F1 LED.

I had the same issue. I thought about installing a leather covered welt between the cowl and dash but decided against it. This is what I did instead.

I removed the leather and added some fiberglass to the edge where there was a gap. Test fit the cowl and added more where there was still a gap and filed some off where there was a little too much. After a couple more test fits, it was in uniform contact all the way around. I think it would have been possible to reinstall the old leather but I opted to have it recovered with new instead. Now the cowl fits perfectly, just as it did when new.
