The ashtray and paddles on my 355 have a couple of scratches and chips that I would like to repair. I did a search on the web site to see if anyone has done this and what paint/color seemed to match the factory paint on these parts the best. The only thing I could find was a reference to Plasticote paint but no info on how to get the same texture and shade. Has anyone done this and had any luck? I really want to make sure it looks just like it came from the factory.

    Thanks!

I'm using NAPA spray on plasti-cote. 3 light coats gives an absolutely perfect finish, slightly textured, looks like new. Technically it's not identical to factory original because that now sticky coating was fairly smooth. But this looks much better IMHO. Others have used similar stuff from Walmart, etc. check the longer thread on this topic in this forum...

Monte---Unfortunetly nothing you do is going to look factory perfect. Ferrari used some sort of plastic coating --not really a paint----that gets sticky and bubbly after awhile. Alot of the guys here strip the nasty sticky coating off and respray with black paint. You can get it to look really nice, but not factory.....The only way to go back to factory perfection is to order new pieces from Ferrari--$$$$----strip the sticky crap and respray--it will look great...
