After having spent time with some amazing rides, I have finally, after many years of looking, acquired a 355 and can say there is nothing as engaging and fun as the 355! I believe it to be the most ‘authentic’ sports car to drive. Yes, of course there are more modern exotics that have amazing power and lots of tech to keep the driver out of trouble... But you have to be going 160+MPH to really be engaged - kind of impractical. The 355 engages you at every speed, and begs for windy roads, double-clutch downshifts, and pouring on acceleration out of corners. It’s a car I think about driving, when I’m not even driving! I LOVE IT!

Could not agree more. Been contemplating a 430. But have yet again talked myself out of it. Hard to replace a nice 355. Figure I will save up and only buy when I can have both. Enjoy! And welcome.

IMO cars of today are too darn fast and too darn complicated and too darn full of luxury equipment.

The 355 shows you don’t need that crap to enjoy it.

I wanted a special car and test drove a 430 I left disappointed feeling was that a it ! As a classic car fan I then went from that drive and tested a 355 , amazing it was what I imagined . Now I own a 95 manual Berlinetta , yes it’s gonna cost me a bit to maintain but it’s so involving I love it .

    congrats on the car!!!
after looking at my 355 next to my ff it has just occurred to me that a 355 wld be a great train station car given its compact size. i may start using my f355 more!

The maintenance issue is overblown imho. The yearly factory maintenance for a 458 is just as expensive. It’s just hidden in the factory maintenance plan. (Paid up front.)

Nice Yellow Spider! Beautiful car in the sunshine! Enjoy it!

I echo the comments about speed and involvement. For me a 355 is 'just right' :)

That is a gorgeous car, you will need a surgeon to get the smile off your face ;)
Besides close to 400 hp is enough to get yourself in trouble.
I love my 355, I am going to the courthouse this week to see if I can marry her.
Congrats on your purchase and enjoy the drive.

Just before X-mas, I just picked up a 458 Italia, with the intention of replacing my beloved F355 Berlinetta, for which I have driven and loved and cared for, for the past 10 years. I have not really gotten to drive the 458 very much over the past couple of weeks due to inclimate weather and my busy schedule with work and Holliday family events. I had not driven my F355 for a few months, until I drove her to t a smog check as my registration is due for renewal. She drives and still sounds like a "dream". My brother, in fact, has stated he prefers the sound of the 355 over the new 458. Driving the 20 year old mistress, with the involvement of the manual transmission clicking, and rev-match downshifting is still very special. I think it is gonna be quite difficult to let the 355 go, but if I don't soon, I think my wife will kill me...

458 is great also... But I find myself staring at it, and then driving 355, lol.
