355 Leather Dying

No way to give you a code. Send in a sample to leatherique and match it. It is 20 years old and fading...

 

Just have someone come to your house and do it professionally...

It cost me about $250 and took the guy about an hour.
The interior looks brand new. Why spend $5k on new leather when you can have
everything redone by the pros for 5% of the cost? and it lasts upto 10 years...

Chas - Quick question for you. Looking at the picture you posted the driver's seat cushion appears to be very "tufted" in between the horizontal stitching. When they re-dyed did they do anything to the cushion? My drivers seat has flattened out in between the stitching. Yours looks brand new.

 

nope they didn't do anything to the cushions...
my car only has 12k miles on it

 

They re-dyed your entire interior for 250-300?

 

my guess is just the seats. I had both my seats re-dyed for $320 and couldn't be happier. Took guy completed the work in my garage in about two hours.

Going to be calling him back to touch up some areas on the dash.

Eric just the seats

 

Dying an interior is cheap and easy. There is no rocket science involved. However the results generally only last a few years. Flex and sun break the dye down and it cracks .

 

I only had the seats and lower door panels done....

 

Hey chas nice interior. Seeing the shifter on our f1 s reminds me of this guy last summer who asked me how easy it was to shift with such a short gearshift. At first i told him it was a short throw hurst designed for ferrari and its awesome. Then i had to tell him the truth and we both had a good laugh.

I had the entire interior leather dyed for 400 bucks and it's lasted pretty well. Probably have to the seats again soon. It's a crema interior with the SS seats in a 348s and I found that the dying process doesn't exactly come out like the original stock leather but close enough.

 

There is a huge amount on the web about leather restoration and the processes to do it.
be careful of the process as some look great but stave the leather and it drys and cracks and is horrible to sit on.
