I’m averaging about 2,500 miles per month on this car. I have already put almost 60K miles on this 99 355 F-1 and here are some issues that have cropped up:

    1. Broken door Handle mechanism, the part was about $150.
    2. Accelerator cable broke and was replaced for $80.
    3. 4 new Cat flange bolts with springs $20.
    4. Transaxle Oil lasted about 40K before turning color (I used a simple Wayne Drill Pump $10 from Ace Hardware to pump 5 quarts of fluid)
    5. The F-1 Shift sensor $350 went out around 50K miles.
    6. I use cheap Goodyear tires (295-35-18) $300 for 2 of them. This is my 3rd set and they last about 20K.
    7. I sold the Tubi and dropped a Capristo-3 with Fabspeed Cats, and for now no issues.
    8. Both the manual seat mechanisms have broken but the motors still work.
    9. Fouled Out 3 plugs around 40K and replaced those.
    10. Radiator developed a leak where the Aluminum Fins meet the Tank Housing. I used 2 sticks of JB Water Weld and this appears to have fixed it for now.
    11. Is there a place where I can get used Test Pipes for this car.

Many of my friends think Im crazy, in reality I dont give a ****. In order to buy this ***** cash, I had to go to the Middle East for 1 year and work my ass off.
Thank the good lord I dont have any kids. I hope this vehicle can break 100K next year; I will keep U posted every 10K miles…

Im hoping the Belt will last until 80K.
Im presently saving the $$$ for the engine out. Any feedback for future service parts is greatly appreciated...

    1. Belt service kit-$1500
    2. New Clutch/Hill Bearing-$1700
    3. Radiator Hoses-?
    4. Kingsborn Wires-?

What else should I replace when I have this done...

If you have not done so yet I highly recommend a Gold Connector Kit from Scuderia Rampante in Denver - If you don't know this place and it's proprietor Dave Helms you need to as a 355 owner. This kit avoids a lot of headaches and is flawlessly built. You can search for more information on here or just contact SR/Dave direct. Worth every penny IMHO.

    Cheers!

With regard to the hoses - again, I would contact SR/Dave or Ricambi and look into the silicone hoses they make and supply.

No - I don't work for Scuderia Rampante or owe Dave any money :) :)

    AC ???
The A/C works fine and blows cold when it runs but many times it will not come on. Being in Central CA where it gets up to 110 F I need this badly. Could this be an electrical Realy issue

    RIMS
While my car was at the shop getting repaired, I took the rims down and had them Powder coated black with a 10% gloss. Price is $300, I pick them up this Saturday
I will take pics when I get them
