    Hello to the group.
I have a 1995 355 that I am chasing a missfire with. When the car is cold it runs okay. When you drive it it starts to miss at around 6800. As she gets up to operating temp the engine starts to miss violently. It will then no longer go above 4800. I have pulled codes out of both sides. 1-4 claims an "rpm sensor" and a "Cat to high Temp". Cylinder 5-8 only has Cat temp. I have checked both lower RPM sensors and they ohm the same, "Cold/hot" The same with the cam sensors. I have also checked for wiring issues by ohming the wires from all 4 rpm sensor connectors to the ecu's and can not find a fault.
I have scoped the sensors and can not see the wave pattern drop out from any of them and yet it seems to be dropping spark out. Looking at the coil packs I cant see any visual evidence that they are haveing issues. The pulgs are in a rich state.

Any ideas from the group? I am begining to suspect that the ecu on 1-4 is starting to fail. Has anyone heard of this. My experiance with Bosch controllers is that they are pretty reliable. However.....

On the 348 there are a bunch of us running Kia crank sensors in our cars, me being one of them. Since you have a '95 which uses the same Motronic 2.7 you should be able to run the same sensors?????

Have a read of this thread for some more information. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=236698

Thank you for your help. I actually found a problem in the plug wires themselves. Wow they are pricey. However I did find that when i wiggled the wire I would actaully loose continuity on wire #3. Going to get a set of wires and all should be well. Sometimes we make things oh so much harder on ourselfs than we need to. I do wish I had know about the crank sensor from Kia as the one from my source was way more than that. I am going to replace the other crank sensor due to age and the fact that one has already failed the other I am sure is not far behind. If I have any other troubles I will be sure to post. Thank you again.

I know what you mean about plug wires being pricey. My dealer quoted me $2,000 for a set of wires for the 95, 355. I got them elsewhere (exactly the same) for $475.
