does the rear bumper section have to come off in order to remove and replace the muffler, or can the muffler just be dropped down Thanks
I have removed the bumper every time. It's not that difficult. Remove the back splash guards in the wheel wells. 8 bolts. Unplug 3 electrical plugs. Off it comes.
More work but you will get an opportunity to check other things really well such as connections on the fuel evaporation system of the left (found some of them loose-ish) and the air injection blower, vacuum parts and solenoids on the right. Of course you'll have a lot more room to work with too when removing the muffler. Time for doing a good overall inspection of the area and cleaning "hidden" electrical contacts (found some corrosion on the solenoid electrical contacts). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey thanks all...but do you think i can remove the cats without pulling the muffler...I am going to try and install my test pipes this weekend
I've been looking into this as well (test pipe installation). From what I've gathered reading other threads, they come out the top, after removing the air filter boxes. Not sure though, not having done it yet myself.
Egad man, remove the freaking bumper since it will make your life easier. Make sure you have help though.
