I know there was an update to the 355 OBDII connection port but the car I'm working on is a 1996 that this update was never done. I'm unable to pull the codes.
Another Fchatter told me that there was an adapter or connector sold by www.obd2cables.com that would allow you to pull codes on 355's that had the uncorrected OBDII port.

Has anyone used the connectors sold by obd2cables.com and if so which connector did you use.

    TIA

IIRC is is just a simple ground connection and it was mandated by the DOT/EPA as a Factory Recall because Ferrari did it intentionally so owner's could not pull codes. Take your car to any dealer and they MUST perform the upgrade for no charge. Why should you have to jump through hoops to get around this issue?

There are two problems when trying to read codes on a 355. The first is the previously mentioned ground problem. If the ground is not there, your tester will not power up off of the car. The other problem is the factory security system, you must have the system turned off to read codes. The best way to do this is to have the car running when you try to read codes.
