    The oil pressure gauge on my 98 355 has been intermittently quitting but I could slap the top of the gauge binnacle and it would come back up. Now it won't. Is this more likely a connection or wiring problem or a gauge or sending unit problem? I would appreciate any comments or experiences. Thanks.

    Just to bring this to the top... I have the same issue as of today, however the gauge constantly reads zero but without red warning light..

    Any been able to fix this?

    I had this exact issue. The dealer actually found two things wrong:
    a. the wire behind the gauge was not secure
    b. there was a bad ground that they fixed
