355 Passenger seat won't move forward

Hello everyone, my 98' spyder came back from the shop, had the dash redone and he told me he took the seats out to get the dash off. Well, I got home and wanted to put the top up and the driver's seat moved forward, but the passenger seat sat there. I had to stop the process, which makes me cringe thinking about it, to push the passenger seat button forward to move the seat to allow room for the top to come up. What gives? Did my wonderful mechanic mess up my flawless top operation or what? It seems like there's a relay failure from the top to the seat since both can work independently of another. So what should I do, I do not want to drive 65 miles to my mechanic if it's something I can do myself.
