Whats up with all these 355's I seen on sale everywhere, that's missing the 355 Passenger Side Engine/Suspension Plate Cover.

Do the mechanic forget to put them back or something? Am I mistaken that all the models would have plates on both sides? I seen them missing on Spyders/GTS/GTB models.

Maybe certain years don't have it?

Just wondering. I just don't want to feel stupid asking about it if it's not suppose to be there :p

I have seen several w/o them also---I have also seen quite a few of the lateral engine support covers that are on Ebay for sale--Good ?

I've noticed that too...and there is a reason they're taken off, but no reason not to sell them with the car! Those covers hide the connections to charge the battery, I had mine off over the winter while charging. BUT I'll admit here I made a bonehead move, while working on the car (new clutch, etc) I slid the cover under the car. Then pushed the car out of the garage and flattened it. Luckily Daniel came through, was about $130 for a new one shipped. Now the new one obviously doesn't include the tags, those need to be transferred. To me that's a big deal, I wouldn't want a car that was missing those passenger side tags on the engine cover. Just simple things that are very obvious and not available aftermarket.

The right hand side is where the posts are for charging and jumpstarting the 355. I have mine off because I clip my trickle charge directly to the posts rather than go through the lighter....

Probably not the ideal method...since the battery is up in the right front of the car. The posts in the rear are for jump starting the car, and of course, closer and more direct to the starter motor. I would either connect through the cigarette lighter, or run the supplied ring mounts off the battery and up through the right side cover in the trunk (what I do).

Plus it just looks nicer to keep the cover on. ;)
