FCA Concorso coming up on May 18th. I understand the judging rules but looking for some pointers on how to prep my car for a good showing and score. My car is a driver and not a show car but its all original and in god shape overall. Any areas that I should focus on?

OK. So far no response from anyone.

I've read over the FCA judging rules which are simple and straight forward. It mentioned that the car should be clean but that Ferrari's are meant to be driven.

Does anyone have any experience how anal the judging is specifically for an FCA event? Should I be getting out the Q-Tips and do a fine detail or are they more judging on completeness and if its in original condition? If I have a few paint chips and "road rash" from actually driving the car, should I count myself out? Are FCA events slanted toward the garage queens or are they really looking for drivers that are well maintained and complete?

Peter. I have done two fca events and I would say the judging was far from rigorous in either. My car hit platinum in both.

I think that the real McCoy judging comes at events line cavalino where you have FCA judges doing the judging.

Brian is an FCA chief judge or something so maybe he'll chime in.

I have a set if OEM floor mats that I out in. I take out the hill passenger foot rest, I replace the horsey tire stem covers with pep boy black , and that's it.

As far as I understand, unlike Porsche events, the anal cleanliness thing diesnt matter. I did what I always do to my car and I brought with me spray detaikef and other portable cleaning things and gave the cAr a once over at the show

    Good luck

Thanks for the responses. So far, like Bob did, I've put the black tire caps back on, removed the Hill floor plate, removed the Goth plug and put the air box back on the engine and put back on the OME exhaust clamps.

Other than that, I'm trying to fix my non-working fog lamps, touching up the rock chips on the paint and then just a good carpet cleaning, wash, wax and engine detailing.

    Anything that I am missing?

As stock as possible. Floor mats, valve stem caps, etc. Figure on losing points on anything non-stock (Tubi, Capristo, etc.). Make sure all lights, fans, horns, wipers, backup lights, etc. work. Have your toolkit and manuals. If you have a painted top on a GTS, have documentation proving it was delivered that way from Ferrari. And always remember, judging is subjective and no two judges have the same expertise or opinions. You may never score the same twice. Don't take concouring too seriously or it'll drive you crazy.
