    Just curious... does anyone have production numbers for the 355 by year and body style, 1995-1999? Thanks for any info or leads you can pass along.

    Since I struck out at FerrariChat with this post awhile back, I embarked upon a bit of research and was able to come up with the following info, thanks to the Ferrari Owners Club database and an old edition of FORZA magazine...

    Total 355 production (1994-1999): 11,273
    GTBs: 3,938
    GTSs: 2,048
    Spiders: 2,663
    Other (Challenge, Competizione, etc.): 2,624

    Total w/std gearbox: 8,649
    Total w/F1 gearbox: 2,624
    Total 1999 cars w/F1: 579
    Total 1999 355 GTSs w/ F1 (my car): 66

    Hope a few of you will find this info useful.

    Do you have a number on how many 98 GTS / 6 speeds there were???

    Great information! I thought there were more spiders than any other model....:eek:.... so mine is one of 2663-ish ( not counting fioranos ;) ) I wonder if there is a breakdown by color...:rolleyes:....as in nero..... :D....;)!!

    Oz---Don't take these numbers as gospel. I have found no fewer than 5 sites with DIFFERENT production figures. I don't think Ferrari even knows for sure. That is one of the reasons I decided to start the registry site. Maybe years from now we will know the real numbers....

    Sorry, I don't have that number. There were approximately 463 1998 GTS with the F1 gearbox but I don't know how many 6-speeds were produced.

    I have to agree; the numbers for the 1999 355 GTS F1 (which I was most interested in) came directly from the Owners Club "Customer Help" site but I have also seen some variations in the rest of the data. I think the numbers are reasonably accurate, though...

    .....hmmmm.............. well It would be nice to know a precise number, though I believe when you get down to the wire..... those last few examples will be the most difficult if not impossible to catalog.... :( I do think you have taken on a bold project and wish all the best for the "registry" :)!!

    Those numbers seem a bit suspicious to me; 2624 total F1 cars, they introduced it in mid '98 somewhere, yet only 579 produced in '99? So did they make a ton in late '98 and relatively few in '99? Don't think so. Not knocking your research, I'd love to see real production #'s, but something here doesn't add up.

    You don't have to look at old editions of Forza. In the Nov. 2007 issue it says that 3829 berlinettas and 2048 GTSs were built, with 2664 Spiders. Sounds like the numbers are relatively accurate.

    You need to explain the "other" number you have there, 2624? I don't think there were that many CH or comp cars. ie; Factory built CH cars only totaled 109 approx.

    Jay - The only reason I can come up with regarding the small number of 355 F1 cars in 1999 is that the model was only briefly produced before the 1999 360 kicked in.

    Vern - I agree the "other" number is a bit of a black hole. I arrived at it mathematically by subtracting the number of GTS, GTB, and Spiders purportedly produced from the stated "total produced". So, your guess is as good as mine as to how it breaks down and what is included.

    Allen - Excellent catch! This had me puzzled as well, so I dug out the old FORZA article and came to the conclusion that this is what they were trying to say:

    Total 355 Production = 11,273 cars
    Total with 6-speed std gearbox = 8,649 (3,938 GTBs, 2,048 GTSs, 2,663 Spiders)
    Total with F1 Gearbox = 2,624 (no breakdown by model provided).

    Does this make a bit more sense?
