As I mentioned in some previous posts, I have undertaken some major revisions to correct the faults with the 355. So far we have replaced most of the interior trim with carbon fiber parts, and replaced the steering wheel with the one from the CS. Most carbon fiber was sourced from Valence and MA Carbon. The guys at Harmony have completely redesigned the exhaust from the headers out, retaining the Hyperflows and eliminating the Tubi. I have also replaced the seats with Sparco Monza units refinished in tan leather with black Daytona trim.
I am now able to post pictures of the Xpipe exhaust and the seats.
All I can say is, if you love your 355 as I do, its all really worth it, cause it ain't cheap!
In the process we've taken about 150lbs off the car, which already dynos at 363 hp at the wheels, as Harmony previously reported. We have yet to dyno it with the new exhaust installed which we hope to get done next week at which time we will post results and more piuctures.

    Daniel,
Sparco Monza recovered in matching tan leather with Daytona trim by a very, very good leather man. Notice that unlike current Ferrari practice of trimming only about 2/3 of the seat bottom, I went all the way to get more of a Dino and Daytona vintage look, which I greatly prefer.
Work was done by harmony Motorsports.

The dyno figures above were before the Xpipe. The engine is equiped with a Euro Challenge series chip, and other equipment included Tubis and Hyperflow cats. We'll do a dyno next week with the Xpipe and Dan at Harmony will post the results of "before" and "after".
By the way, not all chips are equal.

Bloody hell! ya telling me all chips are not equil!! My own De-cated Capristo 355 has a Hamonn performance chip installed and has been dynoed 3 months at 328RWP. Thats maybe 15 BHP over standard. And yours is 35 BHP more than mine? Dude have you a part number for your chip? I need one!! Will you please post up your dyno results for us? Hey nice seats man:)

Can you give us some more info about your chip?
I thought in the european 355 challenge series modifications in
the motor management were not allowed ?
Do you have a 5.2 motronic car or a 2.7 motronic car ?

What did you pay for the chip ?
Where can the chip be bought ?

I am the second owner of the car which is a 95 2.7. The chip/software was modified in the late 90's. I do not have details beyond what has already been stated.
As to what was allowed under the regulations, everyteam that I am aware of, a couple in the states and europe, played with the software. It was impossible for the regulators to see what was going on. If you attended any races at the time, you could not only see, you could easily hear the difference among the cars, and it was not always down to the driver.

    Hey chaa,

    do you have a 95` 2.7 car or a 5.2 car ?

    What are your modifications ?

I have a serious info from an 355 challenge mechanic:

The best car he ever had seen was an 355 challenge 2.7 with
408hp power at the crank (stock cats, challenge exhaust, stock
CPU, polished cylinderheads and ports ).

In his opinion in case of a 5.2 car 410hp at the crank is possible
    with:

    1. race cats/challenge exhaust/4 in 1 headers
    2. optimized air intake (2.7 system ) with Gruppe M
    3. polished ports,valves and cylinderheads
    4. modified CPU (100 octane )

    nice

removing the cats with test pipes gives a big boost in power iMO especially in the low end biggest bang for the buck on a 355 IMO

Mate this is a subject that i am inded interested in. Chips and tweeking has been tried by many on here including "Aircon" and "MVP" as well as my self. These have included after market headers as well as after market Motec ECUs. But so far i have only seen OUR real world 355 dyno read outs, and thats why i need to see the dyno sheets for 355bnuts car. There seem to be a dyno posting shyness when it comes o the 355. Heres two links to the above 355s. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=106847&highlight=355+dyno

    http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120848&highlight=355+dyno

My own cars is a 1995 2.7 with 45k miles on the clock, with De-cated Capristo with a Hamonn chip that more so spreads the power than give much HP. My car was dynoed at 328 BHP at the wheels, which puts it into the 410+ BHP at the crank class. And looking at what the other guys have done in the links above, its very hard to increase the HP past this figure as we are all about the same. The standard car is some 15-20bhp ish lower than what we have gained. So you see why i need to see a dyno sheet of a 355 that claims a whoppig 45+BHP over a standard car just down to a chip. If there is such a chip that gave this increase i would as well as many would pay for one yesterday:)

Harmony Autosport will publish the before (363 hp at the rear wheels) and after dyno results this coming week. The modification since the initial test is the installation of the the Xpipe and removal of the Tubi, which eliminated the third entry point from the cats to the muffler. We have run into some gliches on other things - not engine related - that has held us up from putting the car together to get it dynoed. I promise you will see all the charts, and you can make up your own mind.
As I have stated, I am the second owner, and just don't know what may have been done to the engine other than what I have stated. I can tell you though, that compared to my first and stock '95 which I owned from 1995 through 1999, this car, is just faster in every gear, and has real usable power down low.

Then you know there is always the chance of the engine its self being worked on. By having the heads flowed ect. If you dont know the history of whats been done to the engine this is a posability maye. I dont know anything about head work on these engines.

Yeah, I am interested in seeing what this 355 will do. So the baseline you will be using is 363hp then add the x-pipe!

I have lots of experience porting all types of heads with great results. Since my 355 just had the guides done just before I bought it, it would not make much sense to take the heads off 3k miles later. Maybe during the next engine out service!

But I am interested in the bolt on stuff! What does harmony do about the CEL since you won't be using the bypass valve???

The bypass valve was eliminated by Ferrari with the 360 as they found no benefit to it. We have already run the car with the Xpipe on, and there has been no CEL issue.
To expand a bit on what we have done: the headers and Xpipe are made from 321ss. The headers were designed using a longer run, a la race versions, and we used a wider circumference than standard, ie the Tubi, on the Xpipe as the headers provided significantly more air flow. With the setup the airflow is really smooth and the Xpipe allows greater and cleaner purging than the Tubi or OEM setup.
Feel free to contact Dan at Harmony as he can give you much more detail than I can. There is a previous thread dating back to September explaining the Xpipe more fully.
