    Hey all, I was just wondering a few things.
    a) what are the problems with, or the pitfalls to avoid when considering a Euro spec 355 (ie. not from the US);
    b) if a GTS model does not have a 'factory painted top', is it a forgone conclusion that you are stuck with the cloth/plastic version - or are there aftermarket solutions;
    c) with any 355, is it even remotely possible to add on the 'real scuderia shields' - or is it stickers only;
    d) why do some 355 seats have stitching on the base of the seat support 'sidewalls' and some do not?; and finally
    e) how much does it cost (approximately) for the following items/upgrades: challenge grill, tubi exhaust, scuderia shields.

    Thanks for taking the time to clear up some of these mysteries for me!

    No problems with euro cars, but if it's a u.k registered car be sure to have it inpected properely, salt on the roads plays havock with these cars, and i've seen corrosion to the chassis, engine frame, hubs and even calipers on cars exposed to english winters. As for your other questions, searches on the individual items will yield you a whole plethora of answers!!

    Challenge grills run around $1,400 + install
    Tubi exhaust around $3,500 + install
    The factory shields can be installed by some dealers. They look best when the fender is embossed inward just as from the factory. Some dealers now have a stamp to emboss the fenders(wings) which are then repainted and matched by UV light to the rest of the car. Then the factory ceramic shields are installed in the predrilled holes and Voila.......around $4,500. As for the stitching on the seats......never noticed.

    Same here in Norway. That's probably why you never see a expensive/sports car on the road here winter time. Must be devestating to the value of the car if it gets rust.

    Yep... A Land Rover is priced 200.000 USD here, a Mitsubishi Evo 100.000 USD, a BMW M3 200.000 USD, Corvette Z06 250.000 USD, a Ferrari F430 Spider will set you back 500.000 USD, a Carrera GT will set cost 650.000 USD etc. Quite a lousy country to live in as a car enthusiast - everything else i very good.

    Enough off topic now maybe, sorry :)

    Add Minnesota to your list of places. I'll import to here, but never buy from the frozen tundra of 10,000 lakes.

    thanks for the answers! ....still wondering about the painted top option. If a GTS has the reg. plastic? top, --
    a) is it possible to get that top painted, or
    b)do you have to buy another 'metal' top and have it color-matched to the car??
    +how much would that cost if its even possible.

    Thanks~

    I don't think the top is plastic---My 328 top was not plastic, can't imagine the 355 being plastic either. And yes it can be painted. My 328 top was painted to match the car--Gave it a GTB look..
