Would like to get a set of black racing seats for my 355 Spider 6-speed. Any leads would be appreciated. Happy New Year Fchat Bros!

Wont you have a problem with the seat belts? The Spider seats are much heavier duty than the GTX because the seat belt is attached to the seat alone - not to the body work. IMHO you will need to find a sports seat with built in seat belts or attach seat belt pickup points to the body. That might not be easy in the Spider. And if you manage it dont forget to undo them before you put the hood down!! Just a thought!

Hi John. Many thanks for your advice. I had not thought of this. I was thinking about the Ferrari 355 Racing seats rather than an aftermarket seat. Your comment would be equally valid. Would appreciate any input from any 355 Spider owners who have thought about this issue

I had carbon sport seats in my original 355 (now have standard seats). They will not simply bolt into a spider because of the integration of the seat in the power top mechanism. That's not to say you can't make it work - I've seen some impressive work on this forum - but they won't simply bolt in. They were never an option on the spiders. They are available from Ferrari, I think Daniel can get them (Ricambi). They are about 8k each.

I thought they looked cool (I had a black interior with black seats that had red cloth centers, kinda a predecessor to alcantara). They were not uncomfortable, but I think it would be a stretch to say they were more comfortable than the regular seats, and they were not nearly as adjustable. The seatbelt squeaked where it fed through the hole in the seat, so much so that I had to buy velcro pads to wrap the belts because it drove me nuts. Four point harnesses would have worked great but were not an original option.

At the end of the day, their main attraction was the appearance, rarity, and the knowledge that they were an expensive option. Remove those things and I don't miss them.

Many thanks. I did not realise that they were never an option on Spiders and would require a lot of effort to fit. I will give it a miss. Really appreciate the information
