Just wanted to thank all you guys who have been sending me links to cars---It helps greatly and I appreciate it!!!! Pass the word--Add your car---This is going to be the most complete registry site in the world...
Just got this 1998 355 F1 GTS. History is that it was special ordered by dealer in Dubai, UAE. Came to US in 2000 - it is US spec car. Note the interior - tan (cuoio?) dash, air bag, seats with black piping and stitching, and factory installed roll bar. Also black carpets. Does anyone know what color the leather is - appears to be darker than standard tan. If not Cuoio, what color is it? Would like to know before adding to Registry. This is my 4th Ferrari. #1 Euro 1985 308 GTS QV from 1991-1997. s/n 55659, seen on TV (Autoweek on Speed?), red/tan with burdundy carpets, not tan carpets. #2 Mondial 3.2 cabriolet 2003-2005 #3 Mondial t cabriolet 2005-present - NOW FOR SALE! Grigio Metallic/Red Leather, 355 wheels, Hyperflow Cats, Larini Exhaust, new top and front leathers Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats on the car! I had also looked at that one but really had my heart set on a manual shifter. Interesting, the 96 355 GTS I just purchased is a Dubai import also. I have a contact in Dubai but the Ferrari dealer isn't too anxious to give any info on the cars they sold except to the original owner. Enjoy!
I saw your 355 car at FOW when it was For Sale there. I understand it has a unique history. It may be 1 of a kind. I believe the covered roll bar is a factory option. It would be worth doing some extra research on it. You may discover it is even more special than you think it is, at the moment. I hope you keep it and enjoy it for many years to come. Well done. Congratulations. (BTW, great color combination - I own a 2006 F430 in the similar colors.)
Stan---Looks great, I tryed to track you down at Richards open house but didn't know who I was looking for. I have seen the car many times at FOW--BEAUTIFUL car!!!! Toggie could be right. With the options you have--could be VERY FEW ever made similiar to it. The interior does look like Cuio---which is a little darker than Tan, but not as dark as Tobacco or Natural. It should already be listed in the registry, but please update any of the info you want and I will approve it. Thanks, Robbie
You're right, it's in the Registry, but I plan to update the info. Sorry we missed each other at Richard's open house. I didn't realize the 355 Registry guru is local. Thanks to all for your comments about seeing the car at FOW. I am surprised it was unsold for so long-so was Ralph. I'm glad to have such a special 355.
