I have a 355 spider and sometimes when coming to a stand still at a junction or traffic lights, the revs go up by themselves ! Any suggestions! I had the throttle housing cleaned out and it cured it for a short time but the problem has come back again !

    Any comments appreciated !

Make sure you're not accidently stepping on the brake and the gas at the same time. Happens to a lot of people (including myself).

Before you do anything expensive you may want to check your floor mats are held in place......suprising how many times its just a mat thats causing that problem

That happened to me first week of ownership. Big worry at the time. Been matless ever since! ;-)

Hope it`s something daft like this.

Have you disconnected the battery lately? If so, you may need to do it again and then let the ecu's relearn the warm up process. After the car has sat all night disconnect the battery for about 30 seconds, reconnect it then start the car. Let it idle with out touching anything for about 15 minutes or untill the cooling fans kick on. Again, any time the battery is disconnected you will need to go through this process.

Under the bonnet on the passenger side there is a cover with two large knobs. Unscrew the knobs and you will see a large cut-off switch. Turn it and you will have cut-off the battery.

Though I doubt this will solve the issue. If it isn't the floor mat creeping the car should not be reving.....

    Good luck

my vote is on the mats too - I've had this happen in a [non-Ferrari] car I owned.

the clips that hold the mat in place on my car are burst so the mat always slides up and ive found this to catch the pedal a bit and the revs sit slightly higher, also the accelerator pedal can become a bit sticky so give it a good spray of wd40.
if uve been driving ur car hard and u r pulling up to lights or a junction its common for the engine to take a bit of time to adjust to its idle if the engines been racing!!! hope this helps

I go for the matt also, if My car starts idling about the 1K mark I pull the matt back and that ALWAYS solves the problem.
