I've noticed that in comparison to other 355's, mine seems to be a little bit high at the front. How will this affect the handling? Thanks, Ric.
From what I have read on this board, it seems that the 355 has fully adj. suspension height wise. I'm assuming it can be done with a crescent wrench for coilover's?
From what I've been able to ascertain, the chassis should be 15-19mm higher at the back than the front (measured at the lower suspension arm bolt). This will sit the front guard higher off the wheel than at the back (which makes it look like the front's higher than the back). I would imagine that IF you have too little rake that your car would understeer and become quite floaty at speed.
It might vary with tire pressures, gas or lack thereof in the car, or just a poor corner balance and alignment. I would suggest you get one done if you feel it is off. If you plan on adjusting it... just beware, the slightest change in 1mm can make one helluva difference, for the better or more than likely, for the worse. If you want to read up, search for: 355 handling alsup and 355 handling rexrcr both have great writeups. Here's one for now... http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36197
Thanks for the comments - it does feel a little floaty at high speed (over say 110mph), and my suspicion has always been the slightly high front end. Many people complain of catching the underside of the front bumper all the time but I have never had that problem. Apart from the way it looks, this would tend to suggest it's a little on the high side as well. Ric.
Here's some data if you are going to check your spring heights, adjustment is done by moving ring nut #1 in picture. Image Unavailable, Please Login
