hi all. i removed my drivers seat in order to try and sort out the small 'rocking' issue that i have with the seat. in order to gain access to the little bolts on the inside of the seat base, i removed the bolt that hold the seat belt mechanism in place; however, the seat belt mechanism has now locked and i cannot free it to bolt it in place. how do i free the mechanism? i have tried what you do when the seat belt locks when you are wearing it to free it, but no joy. any help much appreciated. cheers. iain
all sorted! called a knowledgeable friend and he told me to try this and it worked! so, for future reference, i unbolted where the other end of the seat belt is fixed to the seat ( by your hip ) to release the tension, cable tied the seat belt so no more would be reeled in, this allowed enough play to let the inertia side of the seat belt to be bolted back into place on the rear of the seat, i then brought the seat into the house and sat it by the radiator ( my garage isn't heated and was pretty chilly )...left it for an hour to warm up and hey presto it all worked again! cannot believe how simple a fix it was...
