Does anyone know when to shift to get the best gas mileage on a F355? I was told by someone that these cars weren't designed to be babied, so I should be shifting in the higher RPMs. Any help is appreciated, Thnx!

Sorry, these cars are not intended to be gas savers. They are made to run fast and furious. Shifting below 7000 is a bore. However, around town shifting above 5000 will feel better and probably get you about 12 MPG. On the freeway I get almost 20 MPG at 85 MPH. Enjoy the car, don't baby it! :)
    Happy Thanksgiving,

Actually, the manual describes how to shift to get the best mileage. I remember because I thought it was pretty funny that they even put it in there:

"For best fuel economy, shift gears at:
    1st-2nd: 15 mph
    2nd-3rd: 25 mph
    3rd-4th: 40 mph
    4th-5th: 47 mph
    5th-6th: 56.5 mph"

Personally, I usually shift into 3rd at about 60...

I never use speed references for shifting, I look to the RPM.

When I want to drive easy and slowly I shift at around 3000 RPM.

Fuel economy?! forget it ...better buy an NSX!!!!

It's funny that someone would even ask. Just fill it up when it runs out.

When people ask "What kind of mileage do you get?" I answer: "I have no idea! Who cares? It is not an economy car!"
