I need some help please. I have a 1995 355 Berlinetta. My shock light has been on for quite some time now. I checked all four actuators and they seem to be working. As instructed i started the car and monitored all 4. Each time i started the car, the little gears inside spun. I also replaced one of the gears on the back left shock as it was cracked. The others seem to be fine. Aftet all that, the light is stil on. Could it be the shock switch? Or possibly the actuators are still bad? Please help. Thanks so much.

I would post this in the 355 section. It could still be a bad actuator. Or (less likely) a bad shock ECU. It could also still be (another) bad shock gear on top of one of the shocks (fronts are hard to inspect).

This is a lot easier to diagnose at the dealer or an independent with the right diagnostic equipment. Otherwise, it is a lot of "trial and error". The few times I had this happen, it was always the shock gear or actuator. It helps to have a "known good" actuator you can swap the suspect one out with (even though you hear and see some movement, they can still be "bad" and set a light if there is a problem with the gears or pc board). In one instance, I simply could not figure out the problem and took it to the dealer...they identified the bad corner for me, and upon closer inspection, it was a bad shock gear on top of the shock...it was just not very obvious. I took it home and fixed it myself. Over 10 years of ownership, I replaced two shock gears, and two actuators.

Also be aware a disabled or non working speedometer sending unit will also set a suspension light. I had my sending unit go out, and the light came on. Easy and fast fix, though.
