Does anyone know what is the suggssted maintanance (fluid type etc) for the roof mechanism? Mine sounds like is too forced when trying to put roof back on.

I am looking at the fluid from the dealer in front of me.

    Oil: Univis J26

    500 CC

    100850-900

cost about $50 for a quart or so.

Should be checked at least once a year.

    Hope this helps.

I just removed the cover for the hydraulics and the fluid is way way low. I guess that is the problem.

Is that Univis J26 common to get an any aoutoshop?

Thanks everyone. Filling the container with fluid is quite simple, following the steps of previous thread. I ended up using a Mecedes Benz fluid recomended by Ricambi. It was around 28 bucks. Here is a Pic.

Now here is another question... the motor is making a noise, like is still being overworked, is this normal?... Is there anyhting else that needs lubrication?

    Thanks

Interesting, most dealers recommend the Mercedes stuff. But I've seen people using just about anything, including hydraulic jack oil! I kid you not! As I posted before, it does not seem the 355 is particularly sensitive to what is used. Most important is to check and top it up at least one a year or so.

I'm using Pentosin CHF 11S which was recommended to me by a former Ferrari tech, now the head tech at Lamborghini Bellevue. This is the stuff they use in Lamborghinis, Jags and Bentleys too. It is approved by the following:
    Bentley
    BMW
    Fendt
    Ford
    DaimlerChrysler
    GM/Opel
    MAN ->M 3289
    Porsche
    Saab
    Volvo
