What is the gap left to close by hand on the 355 spider roof ? Mine stops about 9 ins from screen , thought it used to be less but I may be wrong .

When opening the roof, after unlatching, I need to push it back about a foot and then the motor will start working and fold the top. When closing, the top comes up slow then the final foot is actually fast and it is best to hold the latch handle so it does crash against the mount and turn it so the prongs go into the grooves.

That is interesting as you say one has to push the top back untill it beeps about 9 to 12 inches but when closing mine stops at this point . Has yours allways gone all the way to the screen ?

If its less that's a mistery. If its more, check your Hydraulic fluid level under the cover in the rear of the center console.

I have owned it only since August, but that is how the previous owner said to do it and it seems to work fine.
