    Hi all,

Currently have a red 355 spider, manual, 97. Thinking of changing for a 360 spider, manual 02 car. Please can I have your thoughts, experience, positives and negatives!

    Thanks.

I'd also post this on the 360 section if I were you... in anticipation of the "don't do it"..

I wanted the 360 before I bought the 355. I personally like the styling a bit better on the 360. After driving both the sound of the 355 was more of what I was expecting from a Ferrari. The 360 does have better performance. It's a difficult choice. Engine out isn't required on the 360. In my opinion you can't go wrong. Drive one and see.

The 360 is a much better car. Faster, more reliable, bigger inside, generally a major improvement. However if you can afford a 430, I'd do that. Another huge improvement, and you can get a stick.

I looked at both. Still think about switching and look at the 360's from time to time. But the body styling on the "jelly bean" just ruins it for me.

Looks more like a Porsche than a Ferrari to me anyway.

The 360 is a nice car, but the 355 is a bit more raw and that's what works for me.

    Better car, yes....more desirable, no

The 355 is the best of its series of cars.....the 430 is sooo much better than the 360.

This question is alot like Boxer or Testerossa

Yeah but a good 430 3 pedal is a bit of a unicorn, not to the extent of Excalibur or the female orgasm, but you get the idea.

6 of one, half dozen of the other. If you like the 360 more than a 355, get one. The rest between the cars is mostly a wash. They're both comfortable, both fairly high maintenance (with the 355 being a bit worse in that regard offsetting the price difference to some degree) and both around the same speed. The 355 vert is more open, the 360 vert is safer and can be run on more tracks than the 355 due to it's roll bar setup, if that's a concern for you. The 360 has more room, the 355 sounds better. You have to drive the 355 a little harder in general as it has less low end power so needs a bit more revs, but for me that makes it more fun. Flat out, the better driver will be faster, the car won't really matter as they're pretty close. 355 is generally regarded as the prettier car, but it's also regarded as the higher maintenance car. I'd rather a 355 GTS than either in a spider (and a GTB over all of them), but that's just my personal preference.

have had 355B then 360 coupe then back to 355 spider. 360 is a more comfy car, easier to live with on a day to day , but less special, the 355 just feel like a classic Ferrari, depends how much you use the car etc, I loved the 360 and nearly bought it back, but just love the shape of the 355. I do less than 1000 miles per year so for me occasional sunny days it doesn't really matter, if I was using it weekly I would probably go for the 360,

I would probably do the 360 spider over the 355. As a coupe, I'd prefer the 355. Personmal preference. I like the 360's topless look. It appears designed as a convertible from the start rather than a coupe with its top cut away. Same for the 348 Spider. Liked mine but the 360 just has better flow.

IMO the lines of the F355 spider and hardtop are timeless ...... however, my opinion of the 360 has changed over the years ..... I now consider the CS to be semi-acceptable and certainly better looking than any other 360 or 430 variant ....... but since the fantastic 458 was introduced ..... it makes 360s and 430s look like cheap 70s station wagons, with vinyl wood decal siding  ....... that said .... the 458 is a quantum leap over the 430 and 360 ....... much like the 355 is to the 348 ........... ;)

ok, consider the pot stirred ...... :)
