Hi, Can someone tell me the correct contents of the 3 tool bags particularly the small one next to the handbrake ? Thank you Wally.
Im curious to find out what the ratchet, socket and long threaded bolt are for in the toolkit by the handbrake in my spider. I thought they were for manually lowering the hood, but cant see anything in the owners manual ??
Yes I thought the same, will investigate when I collect the car next week. If you look at reply to my thread 355 spyder tool kits in UK threads it may help. Regards Wally.
Its used in case the top fails. If the top does not work, there is a round plug in the center consol behind the seats. When you pull out the round cap there is a long wire attached to it with a switch. Try to operate the roof using this switch. If that emergency swtich fails, then you use the tool kit to "crank" the roof up or down. Basically, the emergency switch overides the ECU and will operate the top even with a bad poteniometer. Switch will work even with doors open and parking brake not set. If it's a hydralic or motor issue, the tool kit will do it manually. Hope this helps and that you never need the tool kit
