I tried to put the top down yesterday and it would not go all the way down. When I treid to bring it back up it also stops short so that it can not be completely closed. I have tried several time and it continues to cycle up and down but it will not go the full range of travel in either direction. The seats are forward and the windows are down. I also tried the emengency switch in the rear consol (beteen seats) but that does exactly the same therefore switch seems not to be the issue. Any ideas?

    DON'T FORCE IT !

Had the same issue ... in my case the two smaller hydraulic actuators where not allowing the center section support of the top to allowing it to fold.

From the inside of the car cycle the top to the first opening position, as the top is folding in the second stage you will have a bit of slack in the center cross member ... as the top folds pull lightly on that center cross member, this should allow the mechanism to correct the geometry in the opening / closing cycle.

Basics first. Check that there is sufficient hydraulic fluid before doing anything else. The search function at the top left of the page is your new best friend. Use it to find relevant threads to checking and topping up the fluid, as well as other diagnostic steps if your fluid is correctly filled.

+1. Start with the hydraulic oil. When it gets low this starts to happen. It is inexpensive and easy to do yourself. Check the threads for step by step instructions with photos. Good luck!

Well the easy fixes did not work so I took it to the dealer. I'll post the cause when known.
