    Along with some other work, I just had new "elastics" installed in the top. Attempting to lower today I was unable to get the top down button to function past the bringing the seats forward. Should I still be pushing the center bow towards the back? It does not seem to go back as it did before. Is there a way to "reboot" the top's ecu? Appreciate any help here.

    You only push the top back from its latching position until it beeps. About 8 inches or so. From there the switch should take it to the fully retracted position with no intervention by you

    Try moving the seats forward and using the emergency switch.

    Did it work fine before the elastic were changed?

    No, I manually pushed the bow backwards and a few months back the top/up down switch stopped working. I could still raise and lower the top with the emergency buttons in the back of the center console.

    Check seat potentiometers. Probably not recognizing the seats are full forward. Use,search for fixes to this.

    Does it operate with the emergency switch now? If it does it sounds like the seat pots as said above.

    Seats impaled me on the steering wheel but no top movement with top up/down button. DOES finally go down with emergency button. Also goes up only with emergency button

    Sounds like one of the seat pots is bad.
    I had the same problem.
    Mine would only operate with emergency switch before it was repaired.
