I have a 95 355 I purchased in 2012 for sale. The car is Giallo with Nero riding on black and yellow Speedline rims with nearly new Pirelli P-Zero Nero tires. The car just received an engine out service at 20,293 miles in November of 2013. The service included replacement of timing belts and rollers, water pump, clutch, throw out bearing and rebuilding of the flywheel. The headers were also replaced at the time of the service with rebuilt units. Tunes are provided via a Tubi muffler or the original Sony radio. The AC and the top work well. Interior has minor wear. The car runs very well... Asking $58K Current mileage 20536. I am the shop manager at Mike Tillson Motorcars.

Is it the car? Is it the Challenge wheels? Is it the weather? Is it the price? Over 300 views and not one question...

Its probably the wheels for me. It looks like a Toyota with those on it unfortunately. I'm looking for a classic looking 355, that's not it.

Those speedlines are beautiful....when white or silver/gunmetal. If you still have the stock wheels, put them back on or paint these back to white or silver (silver would be better for a yellow spider). As they are, they do not go well with a 355 Spider IMHO.

Also, post pictures of the interior (You know how they can get sticky..). When i wanted to sell my car, i posted around 20 pictures and the car sold within 2 weeks (On cars.com).

I agree. The wheels completely turn me off, and I know that aftermarket wheels turn off most 355 buyers.

Slap some stock wheels on there, and assuming the interior is up to snuff, you've got a winner.

I agree WRT the wheels... that color combo does seem to detract from the car as a whole.

I brought the car with the wheels. Didn't get the originals. They are Challenge wheels but the original owner painted them black with the yellow lip. Everyone comments on the wheels... you either hate them or you like them. I don't think it looks bad but it is a bit over the top for most.

If someone is interested I am willing to work something out on the wheels. If anyone has a set of stock wheels for sale let me know. Thanks for the comments... sounds like the Challenge is trying to sell the car with the wheels on it.

I know the speedline challenge wheels are very sought after but probably with coupe owners.
If i had a coupe, i would want the speedline in either silver or white as the real challenge cars.
If you really get no luck selling it, you can always try to sell the wheels (provided you find a set of OEM wheels first..), im sure you will find a buyer quickly for them.

Agree on wheels, otherwise, nice price for a recently serviced 355.

Need more pictures, especially the interior. The left rear quarter panel pic makes the top look ill fitting, but I think it's just the light. If you know someone with a good lens, borrow it to take some more shots.

    Good luck with the sale!

You can probably keep those wheels, just get them refinished in the original stock silver color. Should cost about 150$ per wheel and you'll be good to go!

Agree. Wheels look awful. Don't really car how sought after they are. Stock wheels and you probably have a great car to sell.

Agree with most readers about the wheel color.

You say headers were replaced, with what, another Ferrari set, or something from UK?

Assume the lubricant in the transaxle was changed when the engine was out, correct?

How often was this fluid changed? After reading Brain Crall's article in the latest issue for FORZA I am leary about the service or lack there of for the transaxle, and the intercooler which cools the lubricant.

You should be able to sell it come spring (if you guys every get a spring back there), and guys want a spider to run around with the top down.

    Good luck.

Maybe a set of 4 decal wheel stripes in black can save the day so viewers will not get dissapointed upon first sight.
    Looks very JDM now.

Not too fast--I blasted a set of later Mondial wheels before repainting and learned that the exotic alloy takes special prep before repainting, just lightly sand and repaint. I painted as if were aluminum and the paint popped off within 6 months, the backsides I only scuffed look great lol.

Get the wheels repainted the stock silver color or something else that could pass for a OEM color and you are good to go.

FYI - anyone who told you they liked the wheels does not have the means to buy the car. To be blunt, they are horrid in that color scheme.

As someone who was looking, but is no longer, here are my comments (take them for whatever you wish).

    1. The car looks sharp (I'm even rethinking my recent purchase)
    2. Need some interior shots, especially in the areas which you have disclosed as worn. Disclosure to me is a positive, increases the value as you increase the level of trust.
    3. Regarding the tires. At a minimum put a shine on the rubber when you take a picture, but the rims would have been a deal breaker for me; I think they look like whitewalls.

Good luck. Initial impressions - someone's getting a nice car.

Wow can't believe how many people would walk from a nice car because of wheels. 355s have some issues, but wheels probably would not deter me from buying an otherwise good car and I do not like the look of those wheels either.

Can't you buy a set of stock 355 wheels with nice rubber for under $2000.00. I can think of mnay reasons not to buy a car, but wheels, WOW. It use to be it did not have the valve guides done or the headers are cracked. Guess things have changed in the 355 marketplace. And it's a 1995 which I was always led to believe to be more desirable. Just sayin'.

Wheels wouldn't keep me from buying the car but I would subtract $$$ for cost and hassle of fixing them. Also it gives a negative first impression which is important when trying to sell an irrational car.

I hear you. For some reason, neurotic perhaps, I am fixated on stock. However, having said that, I accidently clicked on this link again, saw the car, and said to myself "screw it! wheels or not! that car is gorgeous!". The more I see it, the more I like it. If not for another vehicle I've committed to I would be pursuing this one.
