    Schmitt's have received quite a bit of bad press hereabouts. Search before you bid.

    I live nearby and can look at the car if you'd like, although I am easily impressed and not an expert! 314-494-7669

    Addendum: Daniel Schmitt is the dealer often lambasted. Charles Schmitt is a different location. Not sure if it is the same family or not.

    Just like Surfdoc said, the Schmitt's in St. Louis have a real bad name. I've been trying to find out if Charles is related to Daniel on N. Lindbergh to no avail. The staff at Dan Schmitt are not very professional IMHO. Just something about the way the make you feel in their showroom. The two websites look awfully similar as well.

    Try and get a PPI done on the car. Ferrari has an authorized service center at the Bently Maserati dealer in Chesterfield. My suggestion would be to try and set up a PPI. Dan Schmitt is notorious for not allowing PPI.

    Anyway I'd be willing to cruise across the river to St. Louis on Friday to take a look. You can send me PM if you want.

    Daniel **** is the son of Charles. Like father like son...... Charles had his Rolls Royce dealership taken away from him for rolling back odometers. Check BBB.com for his credibility. I don't think you would buy a car from him after seeing his record with the BBB.

    I'm looking at a '89 328 with 32,000 miles that was sold by them about a year ago. The current owner doesn't have any history (haven't Carfaxed it yet) other than the year he's had it and 30,000 mile service that was completed about two years ago. I've read a lot of bad press but the BBB seems to show them in a good light.

    Any other info would be great and thanks in advance.

    Yeah, and how many people actually take the time to file a complaint ?

    10% or so ??

    Almost every posting here is telling us to avoid these guys, so what is the question ?
