    Hi

Just wondered if anyone's got any info on a replacement steering wheel for my 355 spider?

Its got the stock airbag one but I fancy changing it for something a bit more 'sporty'. I was thinking of getting the Momo millenium wheel or failing that does the 360 wheel fit on it?

Be great to have a wheel like the new F430 with a starter button on it. Has anyone fitted there own starter button?

So any ideas would be appreciated with hopefully some photos...

    Cheers
    Simon

What you need is a hub adaptor. 355 Challenge cars used this, as the stock hub is has four holes, and aftermarket wheels have 6 (e.g., Momo). The adaptor also increases the distance from the console, as the airbag wheel is very thick - most adaptors I've seen are 4+ inches tall. These adaptors are NOT, AFAIK, factory Ferrari parts. The Challenge manual gives dimensions for you to go out and get one machined. I bought one from my mechanic, who had a half-dozen or so made (I think he's got one left, ~$400, but don't hold me to that).

Once you have that, you can bolt on any Momo-pattern wheel you'd like. You'll also need to rewire the horn button (easy), and turn off the airbag light (slightly more difficult, but not tough).

I wrote up a complete DIY on how to do this, along with pics, in the archives somewhere....

    vty,

I checked with a company that supplies Momo wheels and you can buy a Momo boss for the airbag F355 steering wheel...or so they say?

I couldn't find your article in the archives...
