Hi Guys, I'm wondering if only one tan color was used from 95-99? Sometimes the tan looks a bit more butterscotch and other light tan - where there different options? I suspect it's just the light in the photos. Thanks for your help in advance!
Hi. I am a newbie and have tan interior on my 355 also. So, maybe someone will get on here and enlighten us....
I have each of those very photos of my own interior, which is tan. I think all the tan variations are the same. The next closest color would be cream and it's very clear once you see it that all the others are tan with different lighting.
There are color codes as listed here: http://www.leatherique.org/jag_rolls_ferrari.htm However, they tend to not be an exact match unlike a paint code because it's natural leather and the dye process is not as precise as paint. 3209 is the typical tan you find in a 348/355 3218 is the newer darker tan found in the newer Ferraris. I redid my interior with leatherique dye and went with 3218 for a more updated look. However, it's a mistake because whenever a scratch or wear occurs, the lighter tan comes out. No big deal because I can refresh it and respray the areas it every 1-2 years but I should have followed leatherique's advice and sent them a sample of my leather by cutting a piece out from under the seat.
What I'm trying to understand is what colors did Ferrari offer when talking tan or beige or cream? Were there mulltiple option or is tan/beige/cream all one option?
I'm still not sure of the question so lets try this another way A blue car with a tan interior uses different colored leather to a red car with a crema interior which is a different color to a red car with a beige interior To confuse you further the beige is sometimes also referred to as Saddle
That's true, I saw a deep metallic blue 355 with a very dark tan interior which was almost brown. Color combo was absolutely stunning.
OK Guys, apparently I'm just not explaining this correctly so let me try again; I'm looking for a RED 355 and I'm looking to understand my interior color options, so: -Tan -Beige -Cream -Saddle Are these four different options? Or, are they one in the same, meaning: tan = beige = cream = saddle? Does that make sense?
Those are different options. There are red/tan cars, red/cuoio cars and red/crema cars and they all look different. Also, Crema is probably the best!
The common "tan" color for leather is actually referred to as Beige by Ferrari. The common "tan" color for carpets is called Castoro by Ferrari. If you need the actual color codes, you should be able to find them here with a bit of searching.
I've found a great site that has the owners and workshop manuals, but it does not have the sales broshure - does anyone have it? That would be the place (I assume) the color options and proper names would be listed? http://www.ferraridatabase.com/
I don't think I've ever seen a definitive list of color options for the 355 neither body leather or carpet - almost certain its not in the brochure - dealers probably had color swatches
