Can anyone tell me what temp my 95 355 should normally run at & If the tank you pour the coolant into should be dry? I had an antifreeze leak after my car was in for svc and I can't figure out if they overfilled it or it has a leak some where I have noticed a puddle under the passenger side door after it sits occasionaly. Any input would be glady appreciated.

    Thanks

Your water temp should be around 190 degrees F. Your oil temp should be around 210 degrees F.

When your car is cold you should have coolant in the reservoir. About two to three inches from the top of the filler nozzle.

As for the leak check the drains on the radiators, make sure there is no wetness on them. You may have to remove the under panels to do this. Way easier on a lift.

I found my leaks by running the engine and wiggling all the hoses. I pulled the beauty cover on the top of the engine to see them. Watch out they get hot quick. My leak were the two small lines going to the reservoir/filler tank.

    Hope this helps!

It ran fine until today. I noticed a small leak one day took it for a short drive and it started to overheat so I parked it. Added more coolant & water let it sit for a day, no more leaked. Drove it the next day and about 5 minutes into the ride at a stop light coolant started pouring out and it began to overheat. I'm not sure what to think now?

If your tank ran empty it probably allowed air to get into the system. There is an elegant way to Burp the cooling system and then there is an easy but a bit messy way. For the elegant method you need to refer to the owner's manual and try and find the bleeder screw. The quicker way and perhaps more effective is to do the following:
    1) Engine off
    2) Turn your climate control on and set the controls to max heat. This will force the thermostat to open and the coolant will flow through the whole system.
    2) Add coolant to the tank so that its about 2 inches below the top
    3) Leave the top off of the tank so that you can see the coolant and to allow it to over flow once its gets up to operating temperature.
    4) Start the engine
    5) Watch your water temperature, it shouldn't get hotter then 195 degrees.
    6) When the coolant starts to over flow out of the top of the tank turn of the engine.
    7) Top up the tank again so that its about 2 inches below the top.
    8) Put the top back on the tank
    9) Start the engine and confirm that it no-longer overheats and no coolant comes out of the overflow tube.
Be careful not to get to close to the tank while you are running the engine so that you don't get hurt by getting splashed by hot coolant.

What I have done it the past, any time you change hoses, I always check them in a short time, because they expand and retract, and sometimes they need to be tighten. Sometimes when you fill the expanson tank it will be overfilled and overflow when you shut the car off, until you have the proper level. also bleed the air out of the system. Hope this helps
