    Hi all,
Situation regarding the operating temp in my 355..I took it out for a hard spin last night, got back and noticed the temperature had crept well past the 190 degree mark and moved within 1 bar of the redzone. Did a little research on some previous threads and there was mention of the fans...sooo..went out and played around with it, trying to get the left fan (coolant one?) to come on..I let car warm up and let temperature move 1 bar (1 block) past 190 degrees..nothing, so I turned the AC on...that tripped the left fan and the temperature moved comfortably down to a little less than 190.
Yet the fan would not come on by itself without tripping on the A/C? Any ideas?

    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Tom

From memory they should both come on together, but I may be wrong. I also think that the A/C causes the left fan to come on regardless of engine temp in order to cool the A/C heat exchanger.

My 355 had a blown Right fuse and used to get a little warm in traffic. The fuse is under the passengers footwell carpet. Might be worth just checking this anyway - apparently it is a not infrequent problem.

Thanks for the suggestions..I'll first check fuse , then go to thermostat relay.

I have had the same problem and it should not be a fuse otherwise the fan would not come on at all yet it does with the AC. I just had my AC recharged so I am going to see if that helps. I saw a wiring diagram and it looks like the AC pressure switch is also in line with that fan so maybe if the AC is low on pressure the switch keeps the fan off. I have changed the fan thermo, and all the sensors in the intake the relay and fuse rebled the systemn, but not help. It also may have something to do with the temp switchs in the console that controls the AC.
I'll let you know if the recharge of the AC solved the problem.

Actually, they do not come on together. Left is operated by AC and/or radiator temp, right is triggered by ECU.

check this: http://www.hibtech.com/ Scroll through this site, there is a schematic of the cooling fan circuit on the 355. Tried to direct link it, but the site won't let me for some reason.....
