355 throttle cable Is there something missing

Hi I have just replaced my throttle cable on my 355 and the difference is brilliant but when I removed the old cable from where it meets the engine should there be a clip or something to hold it in the guide as mine didn't have anything and there is a groove on the cable as if something should hold it in place ?

The bracket is what I have called the guide. I mean if you look at the picture of the cable is there a circlip that goes in that groove near the end of the outer cable

 

Thanks thought there must have been something. Looked on the parts page and it showed a part 11087976 but it looked like it was in the wrong place !
