That's the infamous sticky throttle of the 355. Keep it lubed when servicing the car and before starting up, depress it a few times and it should feel better. If you ever head down to that little island down south, PM me. We only have 7 355s left here!

On mine the throttle cable had burned some where it was closest to the headers causing it to stick sometimes. After changing out the cable everything was fine.

Yes Sir! Always go up your way to ahem.. run the engine to 8000rpm ++ . Only 2 spiders, 3 GTBs and 2 GTS left here. So the spider is as rare as the Pagani Zonda (also 2)!

Both Spiders are manuals. Due to our tax system and rebates, a 355 owner who keeps the car beyond its 10 year lifespan stands to lose tax rebates of approx US$100k++. So most old cars get exported out at 10 years or younger.

Hence our car population, for classic lovers, is very boring. Lots and lots of 430s but very few 355s/348s or 308s. Oldest F car is the Dino (only 2), no such cars like the Boxers, 250s or 365s. We can only bring them in again when they hit 35 yrs and can only be driven 28 days a year.

Your part of the country is much more colourful!

    cool,

back to my throttle, the cable is new... i dont think it is sticking, but it is just hard to press at 2000rpms....which is difficult to operate in traffic, the whole car wants to jerk as the pedal feels like it is stuck when i get at 2000rpms, i can ease it slowly mm by mm to avoid making the car jerk but i shouldnt have to do this.

could it be something to do with the springs in the throttle?

If the model year of your car is a 1995 (I looked at your profile) then you probably have the orginal throttle cable and linkage system. It was upgraded in 1996 or later to solve that problem. You can get the upgraded linkage, perhaps its a rod I can't remember from Daniel at Ricambi. Here is a link to his site in the general area of your needs: http://www.ricambiamerica.com/parts_catalogs.php?M=FE&P=&V=diag&I=1361
