Hi, Before everyone asks, yes, I've spent extensive time searching. I found alot of useful information, and based on that have decided on a set of Kumho Ecsta MX's (y rated) in 295/35/18 rear, and 225/40/18 front. I was unable to find a definitive answer regarding whether anything would need to be adjusted suspension wise with this setup. I saw one post saying to decrease tire pressure, then one to increase, etc...but, nothing 'FOR SURE'. What exactly needs to be changed on my '99 355 in order to safely and effectively run this combination? Also, has anyone else gone with the MX's? Will there be any rubbing issues with going to this width rear tire? Thanks, Larry
I'm only extrapolating my experience putting 275s rather than 265s on the rear of my 355 - You'll see more rock chips on your fender skirt. I have a black car and use black electrical tape to protect and cover them up, but the abraison patch may be larger.
Very suprised you did a search and did not find mine. I acualy run Kumhos. With 295/35/18 Kumho rear 235/40/18 Kumho front. Along with 12-15mm spacers at the rear and front. Car handels great and sticks very very well. Even with spacers there is no rubbing issues and the suspension is as is Recomended. 1. The sizes you mention will fit with zero clearance problems. Don't worry. 2. As for pressures - you will NOT notice a difference, on the street, between running the factory suggested pressures and bumping either/both the fronts/rears a couple of pounds. You WILL notice a significant difference when you first replace the tires, as new tires always feel different (usually better). But for pressures, try playing with them, and see if you notice anything. FWIW, I run 33F/34R in STREET tires, when I'm NOT on the track. vty, --Dennis
