I recently purchased a tool kit from someone in Europe and it arrived. It has very cheap plastic trays and cheep tools. I was expecting something of better quality..... especially for what I paid.It feels like it was made in China. Can this be right??
    Thanks,
    Brian

I was really surprised when I opened up the kit I bought for my car. Makes Harbor Freight tools look like the gold standard. Very un-Ferrari-like.

The trays are pretty "cheesy" the tools should at least say Ferrari on them.

Wow, can you just imagine what that would retail for if it was marketed through Ferrari in a yellow and black box. :)

People are paying stupid money for the 355 tool kits. They are only worth about $300 but now people think that every time one comes up for sale that its the last one on earth. I think some are now hoarding them in hopes they will hit a few Gs in price. Its crazy actually but many of us feed into the perceived frenzy and actually create a frenzy.

People do this with tool kits, owner's manuals, inflators, etc... You are correct it is totally stupid.

With some patience you can source some things at reasonable prices...Luckily I was able to get the following items I needed: a tool kit in nice shape from someone on f-chat for not much more than $300, a leather folder for the manuals on ebay (why my car came with all the manuals but not folder is beyond me), and a correct Ferrari tire inflator w/holder for ~$60. For the folder and inflator, when something came on ebay with a make offer option I made an offer- even if they were asking some stupid price like $300 or best offer for an inflator. If they responded with a counter offer that was dumb I dropped it- no point in wasting their time or mine. Anyway, that's how I got the leather folder and the tire inflator at an OK cost to complete my trunk items :)
