Ahhhh the old 355 Spider Top... Many of us have this problem...

You can release it manually - just behind the seats -

Do a quick search for 355 Spider Top - and you will even find the schmatics on the mechinism - so of the common problems I and others have found - and the solutions as well...

    Hope that helps,
    Rich

He will also find instructions in the owner's manual. Tell him to have the hydraulic fluid level checked ASAP, it is probably very low...if left that way, damage can result.

The fluid is usually the main reason for failure. The resevoir is out of site so then it is out of mind.

But the real question is: Where does the fluid go?
Anyone care to explain that riddle?

    Best,
    pino

Since no one has found any huge puddles...I think the general consenous is that it is leaking/evaporating past the seals in the rams.

You might want to PM "Aeroengineman" as he just went through this a while ago with his 355 Spider...
