What would a 98 Red/Tan F1 Berlinetta 355 with 25K miles be worth in trading in? Assuming all services done, up to date (30K), and records. Assume condition is 7~8/10.

On that note, does anyone find dealers uninterested in taking in the 355 for trade? Let's say a Ferrari dealer themselves, or Lambo dealer?

    Thanks.

Doubt many Ferrari dealers will be interested with that amount of miles..... I had an 89 328 with 37k in 2006 and every dealer said too many miles for a trade in and that's only about 2500 miles each year for 17 years----selling outright will garnish more money and there are a few guys on here looking for GTB's-----I would price the car in the $75K range for what you describe

I see dealers selling 355s with 25K miles all the time. I mean all the time.

A black and tan 1995 355 GTB that was at least a 9.5/10 was listed for 73k and from my understanding sold for less than 70k (don't have exact). The paint was like a mirror and looked brand new.

A Red and tan 1995 355 GTS with a 30k a few days ago is available for $67k and has some minor flaws (a ding in a fender, driver bolster wear, slight crack in rear deck uprights (forgot name right of top of head).

So, a 1999 F355 GTB Red and tan should sell for at least $70 (and potentially 75k) even in this market if you sell it personally. As far as a trade-in, well I am sure some dealers would do consignment but few would probably want to hold their cash in a car. You might find a local dealer (or close) that has customers looking for this type of car but some of those customers are probably on this board. No real idea on what dealers pay for ferraris but I woul GUESS to buy it outright from you would be $58-62, and a trade-in for another exotic type car maybe $60-65 and they would probably list it for $77-79 (and sell it for $73-75). These prices might go up in the next 60 days but after that, I believe the prices will slowly creep down below today's numbers.

A dealer trade-in will give you a few advantages:
    Done quickly
Not much hassle (no teenager calls, no "can I make payments", no "do you want to trade for my salvage titled M3", and no joyrides)
Potential sales tax savings on new purchase depending on what state you are in.

Honeslty, good luck if you are selling. I would suggest posting it on ferrariAds.com if you do want to private-party the sale.

(anyone please chime in on this...) I would also suggesting going to a reputable ferrari mechanic and have them do a PPI and leakdown and also order a carfax. I did this (on a non-ferrari) and my car sold quickly and was more desirable over other cars since there is a some annoyance with figuring that all out (as a buyer) especially when you are not local.

I got offered $65K for my 99 red/tan Berlinetta with 23,000 miles, complete 30K service done including clutch and SS headers.

At the same time they had, and still have, a 98 GTS on the floor, 25,000 + miles, not near as nice as mine, and needing the 30K service at $91,000

The 98 GTS is not their car its consigned and is way over priced. Its been their a while and I expect it to be a lot longer unless the owner gets realistic on the pricing.
