Well - that pretty much says it. I think I might have jammed it into second yest coming into a hairpin curve and dumped the clutch too hard ( I usually stab it too get the rev's up) Now I hear a low pitched thumping when I decellerate - in every gear. No real vibration and it is not on accelleration. Gears work fine. Put it w/ Jim at Dr. Haanda's in Tucker, Ga - he will stethescope it next week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well - it turned out to be loose lug nuts! I had a flat and changed it myself. Thinking I was going to slap a new P zero on that day I didn't tighten them down all the way. Double dumbass on me!

My hope is that this did not take 7 months to figure out (date of the post which indicated the issue). Also you should always tighten the lug nuts - even if you are driving 2 feet....

I suspect the reason you posted this - was because of a few people on the site have been looking at your car which is for sale (if I am not mistaken) - any transmission issues would be a big turn off on a possible purchase.

Am I close to being right on why you posted this 7 months later...

I would take a different tact - cause every single exotic car owner has had troubles in the past - heck look at my posts on my 355, 250, etc, etc... I would put a note that your car is for sale: Tell them about all the big and little stuff - even if you just had it looked at cause there was a funny noise, services like the 15 and 30K, who did your services or past services (list the phone numbers of the service person to call, the problems you had and how you resolved them, etc. This way you will ensure you have explained your car and the f-chatters who are interested will see that you have your details and less worry on posts like this one from 7 months ago - wondering is he dumping this due to a tranny problem? I think you see where I am going.

I know many of us have sold there f-car to other fchatters - I know I just recently sold my 355 Spider and this person gained a ton of information from this site, my mechanic and others that are members who do drive outs with me, have driven my car, know me personally, use the same mechanic, etc...(in just two weeks mine was sold - and this is the only place I listed it and both buyer and seller got a honest fair deal).

I am sure you car is awesome - just trying to help out... Also join as a member - this never hurts a well - and also adds some validity to your passion for the marquee...

    Hope that helps,
    Rich

Yes Rich you are correct sir! I was so embarrased about my lameness I didn't post a follow up as I should have!

I got an email from fellow fchatter Urotrash who wanted to know if I had "fixed" the tranny. I was horrified. I let him know that Jim at Dr. Haanda identified the problem and tightened the nuts! He is in Tucker - just east of Atlanta. He does great work, is nice to deal with and, of course, cheaper than the dealer. Short of the computer analysis he can handle most nettlesome items.

BTW I agree with you about the research here. Also, I am VERY frank about any small items on my car. Anyone that is interested can have service records and PPI faxed, talk to Mark at FOA etc. I have nothing to hide. I just didn't want to be too commercial - thats what the ads are for IMHO.

I also sold my Dino to fellow Fchatter Tony Zuccarino - who has been elated with it.

Thanks for the input. All good advice.
