I agree. Even if it is faster, no matter how you cut it its still a Chevy. People who don't even know anything about cars will turn their heads/double take for a Ferrari. If your not looking to track your car the 355 is BY FAR the better choice.

3.4 0-60 for the Vette ? That seems a little low.

Oh and nordschleife times are notoriously inconsistant. Ive seen lower and higher times for all of those cars.

The Z06 looks like a nice ride...........

    Good stats.........Congrats Chevy.

    I liked my Vette.......

Still, it kind of like Jenna Jameson instead of Audrey Hepburn.

That is how I took your post...what I meant was those "intangibles" you quoted about the 355(style,feel,sound,etc...) were what makes driving "fun".

If I had to sell my Modena 6-speed and choose between a Z06 and a 355 6-speed, I'd get the 355 in a heartbeat. If I had to choose between a Z06 and a 355 F1, I'd take the 355 F1, sell it and put the money down on another Modena 6-speed.

    this is a great/difficult question.

the comparo for same price would be 97 355 6 speed coupe vs z06 - both for around $70k. leave aside warantee vs $$$ fcar up keep. i dont know which i'd take. all objective data is for z06 but subjectively want fcar. still take vette though.

now if its 355 spider vs coupe vette then would probably go fcar but still tough decision.

    That was funny :)

Nuff said? I'm afraid you haven't said enough if you are talking to people that have 'class'. People with class dont' jump to the option that runs the ring a couple secods faster with a professional driver. Just because your car circles the ring faster doesn't mean your going to get more ladies! .... Or have a more satisfying life! lol The only person you need to impress is yourself buddy. I can think of dozens of cars that I would rather have that perform worse than the zo6.

    i.e. Aston Martin DB4 Zagato

(the ultimate no-brainer) THE 355. the zo6 is a CHEVY! they make a full-size truck too. (legendary and more classy ITALIAN auto maker VS. redneck-stupid commercial-truck-making-your neighbor down the street has one car maker)

This is the same guy that came out of the newbie gates with a "Let's bash NASCAR!" thread in Racing. Let's see...a guy from Nashville...trash-talking an American automotive icon and claiming to have an extreme dislike for his part of the country's national pasttime - sounds to me like somebody is trying a *wee* bit too hard to be someone he's not.

I'm willing to bet he has a camouflage hat with a fish hook on the bill, loves Hank Williams Jr., and goes either "huntin'" or "muddin'" with his buddies on weekends - not that theres anything wrong with hunting.

I saw that thread he started as well....and what you say about him makes sense.

    Steven,

I would likely run circles around your F355 with the Z06. Then again, I could probably run circles around you with your OWN car. LOL. You are not Fangio
    or Schumacher.

In short, wake up and smell the reality.

    JC

PS: livnxs, I'm pretty sure (mentally at least) you still ARE in High School.

Sorry, I only know the Zo6's because that car was running on shocks that the company I worked for made. 7:42 is DISGUSTINGLY fast. That's faster than the Zonda ran.
