Mostly all classics are slow compared to modern cars. A modern Golf GTI would eat my 355 for breakfast.

Comparing 30 year old cars to modern cars is like comparing Bieber to Floyd. Entirely subjective to those doing the comparing as to be meaningless.

All jesting aside, this is probably true. The gated 355 is a bloody slow shifter.

But having a big shiny knob you can play with is cool.

    I call BS

Did you go from 1st to 5th?

All it takes is a couple of hundred revs jump and you lose a drag like that.

Carby car has more HP more torque and less weight. I don't know the percentages though.

Plus who tuned your car? You?

Only a QV owner would say it was better than a carby car. Most QV people haven't driven a glass 308, Horse and Carl are the only people I've come across who've had both. Which 308 did Carl keep?

As for reliability, I used my steel 308GTB as a daily driver for 2 years, every day in Sydney traffic summer & winter, about a 30km round trip. It never let me down. Ferrari lost the plot with the 348 and the 355 is only revered because it's so improved, but I don't know anyone who's had a trouble free ownership experience.

The only Ferraris I've ever had to help push start have all been 355's.

I've told you this before.... rolling start in 2nd gear, 7,800 in 2nd, 3rd, 4th...it was lineball and I was driving the GTB.

Fresh Mclean engine, new pistons/liners etc.

As I've said, the GTB sounded better.

On a track there was no comparison because my GTB was on 14' alloys.

Anyway I know you are only baiting me so I bring Horse on the GAD and not the GTR.

So I can blow you into the weeds........again.;);)

I might add that Ferrari reliability is usually in direct proportion to frequency of use, regardless of the model.

Considering the spec of my car, I don't think that would be very fair.

Plus obviously your dad could drive much better than you.

Interesting I’ve only had 2 negative experiences in 19 years. Generally get at least one positive most outings. My favourite one was a couple of (real) cowboys at a country petrol station looking at the car as they walked back to their workute and I thought maybe a negative comment was coming and instead what I got was “That’s a sweet little car!”. Made me smile.
