What a day, wake up to a flat tyre on my BMW and think, I will use the Ferrari as it is a nice dry day. Get in, turn key and nothing !! I have had it on a trickle charge since I've owned her and she has never done this. She has not been started for about 4 months. Any suggestions as to what it is, as I have not replaced the battery since I've had her which is 5 1/2 years. Any help appreciated Thanks
Are you sure the charger is working? Mine was plugged in and the power light lit for 2 weeks only to find the output side had blown and was not charging the battery! Are you getting any lights on the dash when you turn the key?
Hi Darren, Sounds like a flat battery, check the simple things first, is the charger working properly! It would not be the first to have failed, leaving the alarm to flatten the battery, try jump starting the car at the engine bay points or just try using another charger to put some life in the battery first as a trickle charger is no good on a dead flat battery unless its a CTEK charger? If there is no sign of life after this is, it may well need a new battery after 5 1/2 years!! Good luck and let us know how you get on!! Regards, Phil.
I am getting light on the dash, radio works, lights pop up ok, and I can hear a noise which I think is the fuel pump. How do I get to the battery ? It is a CTEK charger and all the light are on as usual. Does that not mean that it is working? Thanks for your comments so far! Regards Darren
So it seems the battery has some life in it although thats not so strait cut. What happens when you turn on the ignition and disarm the alarm? The battery is found behind the headlight on the NS, accessible through a panel in the inner wheel arch, although there is a charging point under the OS panel in the engine bay if you are looking for an alternative charging point.
the alarm locks the doors, and comes on. It unlocks okay, so do you think it is still the battery. It just does not start or even turn the engine over. Please can you tell me how to access the battery to change it and what should I buy as a replacement ? Thanks Darren
