    Hi All,

In trying to solve the strange issue of the clutch overheat beeping after the car has warmed up to temp (described in another thread), I have now discovered that there seems to be two different clutch position sensors listed for the 355F1.

On Eurospares, there is. part no. 171307 which is listed as “early type”, and then part number 244801 which presumably is a later type.

My question is, given that my car is one of the first 355F1s, should this sensor have been replaced with the early type or wouldn’t it matter?

This problem of the strange buzzing only started after my sensor was replaced at the dealer, and I see they have replaced it with 244801. Is it possible that they should have used 171307?
Is there a way to find out which one would be correct for my cars build number?

    Thanks.

Perhaps a call to Daniel at Ricambi? He may have some guidance.

Thanks. I’ll do that if no-one has the answer quickly.

Just thought there might be something obvious along the lines of “up to build no. x use part y” etc.

On the Ricambi site, it says that the 171307 has been superceded by P/N 182311. When you go to that part number, it says it has been superceded by part number 244801.

Sounds like they should be the same.

I have one of these taken off of a 99 F1 trans, I parted the trans out.

I'll o a better price than anyone else that may have used ones for sale.

    If interested let me know.

Thanks Ian. Seems like they installed the correct part.
I wonder if there is any way to “bench test” these sensors before putting them in the car to ensure they are working correctly?

Thanks. Will chat to my mechanic when he gets back next week and let you know.
I may well be interested at the right price.
