I think that was Albert’s car (Butcher). Always looked amazing in pics, never got to see it myself but I did meet Albert in person. Really really great guy who did a big favor for me, despite not knowing me at all.

I called them. FYI was told car was SOLD
    There were 2 prices 59K and 69K
Salesperson said the 69K would include major and any incidentals but the purchaser decided on the 59K price without the work being done.

when ever i hear things like this, its always about a ferrari and it eats at the reputation of the cars. These engines are no different from any other cars. One does not hear the same about any other sports cars out there half as much as you do about ferraris. Just my opinion.
Owned a 355 for 15 years and it has 120 thousand miles now. The engines dont just.shake them selfs to bits after 20k miles.

Not saying u are wrong but for the buyer it’s the first thing they see: miles and maintenance history.
80’s and 90’s Ferrari like my TR are not exactly bulletproof;)

Yea i know all that. In 30 years i have owned 5 of ferraris. As for the 90s ferraris, they dont have a reputation of shaking them selves to bits as i said. The 355 engine is a strong unit once the valve guides and manifolds are done. Even the 348s have great engines that dont fall to bits.
Have you has a TR? Did the engine let go? Or have you just read about it?

Yes, That is my Monica, the F355 Berlinetta that has sale pending/or is sold by SF Sportscars. She was my first Ferrari and was my true passion for the past 10 years or so. For the first year I would drive the car almost every day. Through F-chat I was able to meet many great people and shared many wonderful experiences through my 1st Ferrari. With Monica and through F-chat, I was able to hook up other passionate SF Bay Area F-owners to help establish the Ferrari Owners Group, Sublimating our passion for Ferrari’s and trying to “make a difference.” Monica was used for 2 Forza magazine shoots, including the F355 Buyers guide exterior and interior pictures, as well as served as a cover car and article subject for the 328 vs 355 comparison of $50k cars. I drove her hard on the road and track. I pushed the car to it’s limits. I serviced the car religiously for the yearly services and had my major service that included new Tubi headers at the 5 year mark of my ownership. I fixed all the stickies, refurbished the interior leather, fixed and reinforced the rear butressses, and picked up and accessorized over the years that included Challenge grill, Speedline Challenge wheels, Macarbon door handles, and even schedoni F355 matching leather 3 piece luggage set. She always looked beautifully “perfect” and she always kept me safe, even at speeds over 160 mph. Recently I was very fortunate to have been able to pick up a 458 Italia (in my opinion-the modern day equivalent beauty of the F355). It took me a bit of time to really get to warm up and appreciate the Italia...appreciate enough to be able to let Monica go. She was due for a major, but I decided to have it done by the next steward and sold her to SF sportscars. Miles are the most determining factor in the price of selling/buying a used car, So that is why a car like Monica with 50k miles is priced “at a good deal”. The conundrum always exists where the maximum usage and enjoyment of a Ferrari by putting miles on her ultimately decreases the inherent value of the car when it is next sold. I never went into my time with Monica thinking of limiting the miles I put on her, as I firmly believed that I would own her for the rest of my life. I can tell all of you with true sincerity, that going in with this mindset, the past 10 years with Monica and recently selling her was not a mistake. I will miss her, but the 10 years of time, money, and love I put into her have paid me back a millionfold! “Parting is such sweet sorrow, my love...”

My engine didn’t let go no but it had multiple belt services, diff change etc. This is a solid good car but as u can understand it is not as reliable as say an 80’s diesel Mercedes. That’s understood

I’m not sure what u are trying to say or prove. Are Ferrari’s reliable? Yes. Do they require more maintenance than a regular family sedan ? Yes. Does mileage impact resale value of any car ? Yes.
Does lack of comprehensive service history impact a Ferrari’s value? Most likely too.
No one told u that ur car is not good and it’s awesome u have driven 120k miles.

That was a good deal. Nice example.

If anyone wants a high miler F1 car, I'd part with my 70k mile 98 Berlinetta RC/Tan for $55k. Tons of service records and recent major.
