356 B Roadster

I thought I would post some pics of my dad's survior 356. This car has 40K original miles, and is largely in original condition. It spends most of its time in the garage, ran weekly, but and driven every 3-4 months - for a short drive.

It's not concours, but is a time warp car. No visible rust, and has been undercoated since new with rustoleum. He bought the car brand new in 1960, and has been the only owner. this car did a round trip from Pennsylvania to California in 61, and was my parents only car for a year or so before I was born. I've been begging my dad to sell it and get something he can drive and enjoy, but this is his car and he's keeping it. As for needs, paint is not super- repaint from about 20 years ago. the original laquer was getting brittle and cracking - but no rust under... chrome needs some replating... engine runs great, wheels need re painting, and it can use an alignment / wheel ballancing. Has all original documents, tools and Porsche Cert of authenticity.

Very nice! Pretty car. they are so fun to drive!

I wish he would enjoy the car more. He's had some health problems this year and seems to be pulling thru, but still wish he could do more with the car and 356 registry. He's a bit of a loner!

 

Any 356 Service recommendations in Atlanta? The car is coming down here in the spring...need to get a tune up, check valves, clutch adjustment, and do an alignment and brake bleed.

 

Thanks - I'm a registry member, just thougth I'd ask for f-chat recommendations from those who have specific experience. Thinking of Auto Atlanta, but dont know much about their reliability, reputation etc... anyone have any specific experience?
