My 360 lost pressure in the clutch pedal. Just the spring loaded tension was there to return the pedal back to normal position.

Bled the line at the clutch housing, removed a little bit of air. Reservoir down only 1/4".

Worked normally for a while, then the same occurred again.

Bled at the clutch housing, and replaced the master cylinder (in nose compartment).

Worked okay, then it happened again.

Bled system (or rather cracked the nut) with clutch depressed etc...which gave me functionality back for 30km, then it'd fail again.....3 times in 80km!

The fluid lost last night was about 400ml, but no evidence of where it is actually being lost to..

Last time we checked, there may have been some weeping of fluid around clutch seal/bearing, but not 400ml worth.....

The clutch at the moment will work okay, but on some gear changes there will be zero pressure, but frantic pumping brings pressure up quick-smart.....

Any thoughts or experiences with this problem

    Thanks in advance

    W

If your leaking at the slave ( leak between the engine and trans) you have found your problem already. But also check if your carpet is wet under the clutch pedal.

Yep, looked for both of those problems, but no luck. I'm guessing it's an internal leak, but there's no evidence of leaks anywhere...nothing under the car, on carpets, or on underskirt..

Fluid is going somewhere. There is no mini black hole that it escapes to... unless you buy the very expensive ferrari "Negro foro" option.

That line that goes from the clutch master cylinder on the right.. that goes straight back to the block on the side of the clutch housing where you bled it.

There is no mystery. It is leaking somewhere causing you to loose pressure. 1) at the clutch master cylinder (replaced) 2) from the line either at a fitting or the rubber has degraded #38 (Ferrari 360 Modena Parts : Table 27 - CLUTCH AND CONTROLS -NOT FOR F1-) 3) At the clutch bleed block -or- 4) at the clutch bearing. If you've had some leaking at the clutch bearing I wouldn't be surprised if its there absent other drips from the undertray.

Probably the fluid block. Same occurred when I bled my brothers 360. Block had hairline crack. They are total crap. A total garbage design. Had to replace block with newer design and all ok.

Hi Alex... What newer design? I'd rather try that than rip the gearbox out.

Did u have evidence of fluid leaking?

If your clutch bleed block on the side of the transmission is cracked then you'd see fluid leaking there. The fluid does indeed "have to go someplace", but that doesn't mean it has to escape from the system. I had a clutch pump (clutch master cylinder) failure on my 360 caused by the fluid bypassing the internal seals in the master cylinder. The new one wasn't expensive and it was not too difficult to change even though, like most work on the 360, it was a bit fiddly. Check out my previous post about what I learned:

Here is the culprit.... Incorrect thrust bearing seals installed at some point. These are for the F1 box and mine is 6spd manual.

A crack in the clutch block is a well know problem and I would suggest this is you first port of call. I had the exact same issue and the block had a crack...
