Six months ago I purchased a replacement RPM gauge face panel in yellow for my 360. It looks really nice, giving a distinct look. However, when tuning the panel lights at night, it is impossible to read the display numbers. Only a bright green arch light is visible, with the numbers just barely diming.
I spoke with Daniel from Ricambi, who sold me the item, and he gladly offered to help by contacting the manufacturer (I believe is in Fort Lauderdale Florida). A new batch of face panels was soon to be released, which theoretically had the issue corrected.
It seems the problem still persists, as Daniel explained last time we spoke.
Several people I spoke to, share the same frustration. Time and money spent removing the instrument panel, etc, etc. This is not going anywhere.
I hope the manufacturer reads this post, and the issue gets resolved.

Actually, it would be nice if Ricambi would discontinue selling an inferior product in this case, now having knowledge of this flaw, and tell the manufacturer with whom he acquired this product to make your issue whole. If the manufacturer of the aftermarket dial does not, Ricambi should show a goodfaith gesture and offer a concession on a future order.

Thats exactly what I would do with my company (as I am in the "expensive" parts business too, but for helicopters & guns)

Just curious, is there a prancing horse on your dial?

    John, what a brilliant idea!

I'll give everyone who purchased an RPM face a free replacement when the new ones arrive. I have no ETA on replacements but have discussed this at length with the manufacturer.

They are NOT made in Florida. They are manufactured in England. There are NO prancing horses on our dials. It is a licensed trademark that we do not have permission to reprint.

I sincerely applaud this gesture, and the community here should note your position on customer satisfaction.

    +1 in my book.

    John:
Ricambi has shown good faith by offering a free replacement only when the new and corrected version is released. It seems the manufacturer is still dealing with the issue. Why are they selling a product without checking these essential details?
To answer your question, there is no "cavallino" stamped.

Just to make sure there is no confusion these are selling by Ricambi?

I also originated the idea, and no one seems to have a problem with the ones I make seeing them at night :)

Yeah, but it would seem as though the decorum lately for this forum is that if you are not a paying sponsor, you cannot advertise or post a link to ANYTHING.

See the thread which kind of set me off to this whole nonsense.

I sent Rob Lay an email, no response yet, if any. Its his forum, and if he wishes it to be sterile and unfriendly, so be it. I am merely a guest here. I am not trying to troll or cause ill-will; merely protect our rights to discuss items in an open fashion without censorship.

After rereading the post, we have never sold any gauge faces to Danial at Ricambi, even though we are in Fort Lauderdale.

We do offer the ORIGINAL version on our site however.

    Thanks, craig

Yes, they are sold by RICAMBI. It was my first thought these were the same ones you fabricate.
It would be a great idea if perhaps RICAMBI switches to yours and drops the British ones.
Too many months have gone by and I still have a product well below the standards it intends to be. It is unconceivable how do companies still get away manufacturing and selling products without basic testing.

Why don't you email or PM me your name, and I'll issue a full credit for the purchase? Certainly, buy some from Craig if you chose.

All I can say is that originally I made them for MY car first, never intending to market them. After people saw them however it somewhat turned commercial.

I have bought many items from Daniel as well, always had good success, I am sure he will honor whatever he does. Maybe he should get them from me.

Would be curious to hear more about this problem.
I too have the yellow dial face from Daniel and yes I see some green-ish line in the background at night, but don't really think it's a huge obstruction.

Did I get one from the good batch or do I just have a higher tollerance?

craig and daniel should go offline at this point...its moot, and we do not need to get involved in the details of your guys business details.

daniel, if craig offers a clean product at an attractive price point, then perhaps its something to consider...and craig if daniel doesnt take you up on it, well, to be honest you both are selling a copy of an oem original (without trademarks) and hence there is really no protection against "i was first".

I would like to see you both co-exist, and contribute positively to the forum. competition can be healthy for consumers.

    ;-)

Daniel: Let it be clear, as soon as I finish writing this post, I will be calling you.
There are no sort of hard feelings against you here. In fact I have bought from RICAMBI several times, and I will continue to do so. Superb CS, experience, and fair prices.
This is precisely why I won't accept your offer to issue me a full credit, so that I can go and buy one from Craig. I expect you to handle the issue the way you've always have, and do whatever it takes to satisfy me, your customer.

Like yourself, I am a businessman too. We represent several suppliers. When we are approached by a vendor offering a new product, we assure the item is up to retail standards before offering it up for sale. This means trying it out ourselves. We will not retail a product without passing our QC standards. This approach has kept our clients coming back to us, time after time.

    Thank you.

I had a long chat with the manufacturer about this issue today, and we are attempting to resolve it in a number of ways. The coloration/opacity of the numerals will be adjusted by removing one of the film layers on those digits. There may also be a thicker black-out/silvering of the interior section, to prevent that "PacMan" bleed through that can be seen on the nighttime illumination. Additionally, we are going to adjust the yellow color and bring it closer to the F430 dial that was beta-tested by Bill (Florida). These changes will likely take 30-45 days and the first test samples will be sent to SorpassoRosso and Bill for evaluation.

I will try to expedite the process as much as possible, and let folks know when a revised design is available.

Well ok, guess that's the way mine looks, too.
But have to say IMHO I don't see it as being a big deal.

Hey fellas. I posted the original installation of Daniel's guages, I bought the yellow and red. I spent a significant amount of time putting them in and experimenting with them and providing feed back to daniel on them.

Please note, the problem is NOT the face, it is the light pattern emitted by the panel. THERE IS NO WAY to change this. However, you may be able to black out some areas, fade out others, and make other areas almost transparent. When I had my panel down, I actually lit it to see where the lights came in, and that is the pattern you see. Please review my post regarding this process and the results.

Also, Daniel's product is a nice piece and I have no complaints other than the pattern. I would be stunned if this can be accomplished given the situation, but I'll remain hopeful. Check my thread and let me know if you have any questions (let me post it up once I find it).

    Cheers~

Can you just order a challange stradale, F430 or scuderia gauge from Ferrari directly? Perhaps, going to a dealer and have them order one for you, is that a possiblity?
