I've done a search with no returns, has anyone installed a 5 point harness in a Modena with minimal modifacations, and if so, can I get some info on it? Thanks Guys!

I researched this high and low. I bought my 360 w/ plans of doing most of my track events with it, replacing my 993, but I just couldn't find a good solution for this and have so far ended my car's track career before it ever began. It's too fast a car to run w/ slicks and race pads, and then rely on stock seats and belts. Few people really track these cars regularly, so there's nothing available pre-made. Shoulder belt mounting point are the hard part. Here are the options I've found:

    1. Have your own harness bar fabricated; similar to the sparco bar with down tubes.

    2. Classic Coach welds steel plate sandwhiched between 2 aluminum plates to the firewall, on the cabin side. I didn't like the idea of relying totally on welds to pull against.

    3. Drill into the truss above the access panel, and put plates on the other side.

Anything you do on this car, you have to be very careful of untreated steel touching aluminum and galvanic corrosion. Also, you will have to fabricate a way of attaching your lap belts and sub strap to your seat base, as you can't use plates to mount to the floorboard.

    Good luck!

I'd start with sport seats for one... pretty damn hard to retrofit 5-points with Daytonas or stock seats I bet; or maybe some aftermarket seats perhaps?
